Finishing Strong

We’re coming down to the last few weeks of the school year, and all, students and teachers, are working hard to finish strong!

Clayton Tells Story on Radio

As I was driving home this afternoon, I heard Mrs. Clayton reading her story on Mississippi Public Broadcasting Radio as part of the Rural Voices Radio portion of their program. She sounded great! We’ll have more SLE teachers and students to read their stories over the coming weeks and months. You’ll just have to listen in to catch them.

Out of this World Time

I had a great time driving the 23 students who earned a trip to the Stennis Space Center this week. I’ll post some pictures of our trip soon.

Math Efforts Adding Up

Ms Landrum reported today that she is seeing some improvement in her students’ math results. Thanks to the teachers and students who are focusing their efforts. We will be giving practice MCT2 tests in reading and language next Tuesday and Wednesday to gauge how well prepared our students are.

Kids Get Coached

Finally, thanks goes to Maurice Bowie, the head basketball coach at East Central Community College as well as the brother of Mrs. Tameka Weathers, for giving a pep talk to our fifth and sixth graders today. Even the teacher and I were inspired!

Have a Happy Easter, and keep in touch with your child’s teacher.
